About the Event
New Year is often a time when people wish for prosperity and new beginnings and March 21 marks the start of the new year in Mesopotamia.
Over the years, Newroz, the Kurdish New Year, has come to represent new beginnings, as well as an opportunity to support the Kurdish cause.
Newroz is the symbol of the revolt against oppression.
Please join the Kurdish Cultural Center of Illinois in celebrating Newroz 2019!
We welcome you to dinner and traditional Kurdish dancing accompanied by a musical performance by Mem Ararat, Arash&Livia
