Director: Hezhwan Zendi

Hezhwan Zendi was born in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan, Iraq, and grew up with a passion for film. After high school, he pursued filmmaking at the University of Sulaymaniyah, graduating with a major in writing and directing. During his college years, he wrote and directed over five short films and participated in more than fifteen short films, contributing in various roles. At the Duhok International Film Festival, he won two international awards for a project created by the Goethe Institute. He later created the successful short film Paths, where he worked as a writer and cinematographer, earning an international award for cinematography. Following that, he made his first feature film, 1988, serving as both writer and director. This high-budget film was a success and featured the renowned Iranian cinematographer Hooman Behmanesh.
