Director Statement
Through the world of children, we can address global issues, as well as social, political, and religious concerns, in a much more nuanced and beautiful way. In this realm, we can depict anything—even war—without blood and violence.
In Khalil’s story, we join a child who, after his father’s death, is burdened with the question of whether his father has gone to heaven or hell.
