Director Biography – Vahid Eslami
Born on March 10, 1976, in Ilam, Vahid Eslami is a filmmaker, film and theater critic, screenwriter, director, and producer for radio and television. He studied art at Tehran University of Art and Architecture and has been a university lecturer. Since 2002, he has taught filmmaking at the Iranian Youth Cinema Association and has been a film critic since 2004. Vahid has conducted various cinema workshops and has produced, written, and directed numerous films, such as The Thirteenth Month of the Year, Zara, Horeh (which won the Best Film Award at the Radio and Television Production Festival), Rahaei, Wheelchair, Time to Sacrifice, Broken Dream, Slave of Love, and others.
He has also produced and directed documentaries like Shah Parian, A Simple Life, and Monira Khatoon, as well as directed plays such as Zulfiqar Sunset, Restless, The Safest Corner of the World, Phoenix, Aziz Mai, and Courtship. Vahid produced the TV program Gol Hero, which won the Best Evening Program award at the Radio and Television Production Festival in 2016. He has been a judge at various film and theater festivals since 1983 and has won numerous awards. He is the author of The Curtain Scene, a collection of plays, and is the founder and CEO of Asr Zohour Film Company. Vahid was in charge of the theater unit in the art field from 1983 to 1987 and the visual unit from 1988 to 1991. He is also a member of the Council for Reviewing the Registration of Drama Groups.
