Bilal Korkut was born in the district of Nusaybin in Mardin province in 1987 (Southeast Turkey/Kurdistan). He graduated from Dicle University’s Turkish Education Department in 2009 and received an MA degree from the Kurdology Institute of Artuklu University in 2015. Bilal has directed several plays, including “We are Neighbors,” “Women’s Tales,” “Grandma and the Fox,” and “The Little Prince.” He began studying in the Film and Television Department at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts in İstanbul in 2016 but left the program to return to Mardin, where he enrolled in a graduate program in the Communications Department of Artuklu University. He continues to live in Mardin, where he studies and works as a secondary school language arts teacher.
